Erick Tsiknopoulos and the Sugatagarbha Translation Group are available for commissioned translation work from Tibetan into English; and also from English into Tibetan. We offer an academic level of high quality translation, at relatively low rates by Western standards. Discounts are given for larger works (30+ pages). For examples of our recent work, please see the translations done from 2013 onward, under the Chronological List of Translations on Tibetan-Translations.com; or just look at some of the translations we’ve published on the site over the last year.
We are especially skilled and experienced in the translation of Tibetan Vajrayāna and Mahāyāna Buddhist practice texts and scriptural materials, in particular sūtras, dhāraṇīs, mantras, sādhanās, Tantric rituals, and prayers; all of which have become our main specialties of expertise, and which have constituted most of our commissioned translation work. However, in general, most Tibetan texts are doable for us; and we are not only familiar with the language and concepts of most genres of Tibetan literature, but also have some experience with translating most of them.
We have translated, under the guidance of Tibetan scholars, hundreds of Buddhist texts from Tibetan into English. Most of these are available for viewing on Tibetan-Translations.com; with the exception of some, such as our extensive trannslations of The Heart Sphere of Yuthok (g.yu thog snying thig), an immense Vajrayāna collection related to Tibetan Medicine consisting of 513 pages of Tantric Buddhist practices (done under the auspices of the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon).
Having spent over a decade in India and Nepal studying Tibetan Buddhism and language since 2008, under the long term guidance of numerous Tibetan teachers and intellectuals, Erick Tsiknopoulos, in consultation with Tibetan scholars, utilizes his fluency in spoken Tibetan language, along with his literacy in written Tibetan, to produce professional translations which strive for authenticity and accuracy, according to the standards of the Tibetan tradition; including its cultural, philosophical, linguistic and historical aspects. In addition, our translations also meet the general requirements for presentable academic papers and PhD theses; as well as being essentially ready for publication upon completion.
